Celebrating the Young Child

Each Semester Dr. Stewart’s early childhood classes at DACC host a gathering of community services engaged in supporting safe and healthy children.  CRF participates in these events with a table displaying donated children’s books.  Each child is guided by a volunteer (contact Jan at jgreed31@msn.com) in choosing a book to keep.  As the children browse through the books, their parents are encouraged to read with their child daily and given a brochure of age-appropriate tips for meaningful and enjoyable reading together.  Books given to the children are donated in book drives by school, sport groups, COAS as well as service and religious organizations.
