Meet the Alliance

Staff

I have been with the Children’s Reading Alliance since August 18, 2022. I began my work as Program Manager for the First Teacher / Primer Maestro™ program, and on September 18, 2023, I transitioned into the role of Program Coordinator in partnership with the STEM Program. In October 2025, my responsibilities expanded further when I became Program Coordinator and Finance, supporting both program operations and financial processes for the organization. I hold an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice and have continued to expand my knowledge and skills with the help of many people that have surrounded me through my work with the Children’s Reading Alliance. My experience includes program coordination, family engagement, volunteer and facilitator support, inventory and warehouse management, purchasing and requisitions, and financial coordination, including payroll and QuickBooks support.I am proud to serve the Doña Ana County community and surrounding areas. My passion for literacy and community service is deeply personal. Spanish is my first language, and I faced many challenges learning to read and write in English while growing up in a border town with very limited resources. I was raised by my grandmother and a hardworking mother, experiences that shaped my resilience and commitment to service. Literacy means so much to me because I understand the barriers families face firsthand. I am passionate about helping parents recognize their ability to advocate for their children, build strong bonds from a very young age, and feel confident preparing their children for school. My family is my motivation to continue thriving, and I hope to be an inspiration by showing that it is possible to change the world little by little through kindness, dedication, and service.

Donor Operations & Finance Coordinator

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and have over 10 years of experience working in the educational field. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to supporting children and families by advocating for those who are struggling and providing guidance to parents in need. I have served in various roles, including Family Support Specialist, Behavioral Specialist, Development Specialist, and Facilitator. These experiences have strengthened my passion for making a meaningful difference in my community. My goal this year is to continue spreading awareness about our amazing program, increase parent participation, and expand our reach by partnering with additional school districts in the future. I am excited and committed to making a positive and lasting impact in the community we serve.

First teacher/Primer Maestro™ Program Coordinator

With experience as a nonprofit Executive Director and over 25 years serving as a K–12 educator, my passion for literacy, education, and community impact aligns deeply with CRA’s mission. I am a faith-based, dynamic, and visionary leader who values transparency, collaboration, authenticity, and teamwork—and I lead with faith, love, excellence, care, honor, and integrity. I am honored to bring all the wisdom, skills, talents, and entrepreneurial knowledge I’ve gained throughout my career as an educator and nonprofit leader to this next chapter. I’m excited to join this incredible team and contribute to the continued growth of First Teacher/Primer Maestro, Reading Buddies, and future programs. It is truly an honor to serve our community and help expand access to books, literacy support, and joyful learning experiences for children and families.
